A North Amityville man was arrested Friday and charged with shooting and wounding two men last week outside the home where all three live, police said.

Earle Forster, 41, of 90 East Smith St., was charged with two counts of second degree assault and with second degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Nuer Griffin, 29, and Reynaldo Jackson, 45, were talking to their landlord outside the East Smith Street address at 12:25 a.m. June 30 when they were both wounded by gunfire, police said. Griffin was shot in his right knee and right buttock and a bullet grazed Jackson's left leg, police said. Both men were then taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip and admitted for treatment.

Information concerning the motive for the shooting was not immediately available from investigating detectives.

Forster was to be arraigned Saturday in First District Court, West Islip.
