A man was pronounced dead outside a Deer Park housing complex Monday after workers shoveling snow found him buried in a pile, the Suffolk County Police Department said.
The workers discovered the man in the snow about 3:45 p.m. as they shoveled a walkway at the complex on Parkcenter Drive, according to a department news release, which did not say if his death was weather related.
Homicide Squad detectives are investigating but they believe the man's death was not criminal in nature, the release said. The Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner will determine how he died.
The Suffolk police are holding off releasing his identity until they notify next of kin, the department said.
Homicide Squad detectives ask anyone with information to call 631-852-6392.
