A Bay Shore man died after being stabbed in the street outside a home in North Amityville just after midnight Tuesday, police said.

Suffolk County police said Nicholas Murphy, 23, was stabbed on Emerald Lane North. He fled in a car with two others and was found in that car by officers responding to the stabbing on 39th and Pacific streets in Copiague. Police said the two others remained at the scene.

North Amityville Rescue took Murphy to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he died.

Police said they have not made any arrests in the stabbing. The investigation is continuing and detectives are asking anyone with information to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or anonymously Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
