Man followed Brentwood students onto school bus, Suffolk cops say
A 29-year-old man was hospitalized for medical and psychiatric evaluation after police said he followed a group of teenage students onto a bus Wednesday in Bay Shore.
The identity of the man was not released.
None of the students were injured, Suffolk County police said.
Police said the incident occurred at a bus stop on Brightshore Boulevard and Hemlock Drive at 6:54 a.m. The students, who police described as “high school aged,” were headed to the Freshman Center in Brentwood.
Inquiries with the school were not immediately answered on Thursday.
Police said that after following the students onto the bus, the man was removed and taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for evaluation. He was not charged, police said.
