A pedestrian sustained minor injuries after being struck by a car early Friday morning in Shinnecock Hills, police said.

The victim was taken to Southampton Hospital by Southampton Volunteer Ambulance after the accident, on eastbound County Road 39 near the intersection with Shrubland Road at 7:51 a.m., Southampton Town police said.

Police said the driver stopped and no criminality was involved.

Police said the injured pedestrian was one of the people who called 911.
