Man injured by fireworks in Shirley, say cops

Suffolk police and firefighters responded to a Sorrel Drive home in Shirley Thursday evening after a report that a man had suffered injuries related to fireworks, police said.

The 40-year-old victim, who suffered cuts and burns to one of his arms, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital after the 8:27 p.m. incident

Police did not release his name.
