Man injured crossing W. Babylon street
An 18-year-old man was struck by a car mirror and injured as he crossed a street Tuesday night in West Babylon, police said.
Suffolk County police said Timothy Rush of West Babylon suffered severe abrasions to his left arm, as well as head and back trauma, when he was struck by a car's mirror, and possibly its door, as he crossed Great East Neck Road at 10:11 p.m.
Rush was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was treated. His condition was not immediately known Wednesday. Police said his injuries were not life-threatening.
The car that struck Rush was a 2004 Honda driven by Lauren Lordi, 25, of Commack, police said. Police said she was headed northbound when she struck Rush.
Lordi remained at the scene and was not charged, police said.
