A Wading River man was killed in a chain-reaction car accident on Ocean Parkway Monday evening, according to State Police.

At about 6:42 p.m., Jeffrey McGuire, 33, was driving a GMC Colorado east on Ocean Parkway near Oak Beach in Babylon when he rear-ended a Honda Odyssey in the left lane, said Trooper Frank Bandiero.

McGuire's GMC stopped partially in the left lane, where McGuire got out of the car, Bandiero said. Then a Dodge Durango driving in the left lane struck McGuire and his car, according to police.

McGuire was pronounced dead at the scene by the Suffolk County medical examiner's office.

The driver of the Honda suffered minor injuries from the first collision, Bandiero said.

No criminality was suspected and no arrests were made.
