A Rocky Point man died in a head-on crash Wednesday night after driving into oncoming traffic on Route 25A in Miller Place, police said.

Jeffrey Albano, 48, was going east about 6:20 p.m. when he lost control of his 1995 Buick Regal, veered across the yellow lines and hit a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis driven by Dolores Cash, 83, of Sound Beach, police said.

Albano was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Cash had non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, police said.

The crash took place just west of Harrison Avenue.

Route 25A was shut down between Harrison and Oakland avenues, police said.
