A pedestrian who was struck and killed by two vehicles last week in Shirley has been identified as Elias Gonzalez, of Mastic, Suffolk police said.
The first vehicle, a Honda Odyssey, had been southbound on the William Floyd Parkway at the intersection of Sunrise Highway around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday when it struck the victim, police said.
The driver stopped to help the man, identified by police Monday as Gonzalez, 27, but another southbound vehicle — a BMW sedan — also hit him, police said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The two drivers were not hurt.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Detectives ask anyone with information about the collisions to contact the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
