Man missing off Wading River beach

Search and rescue units were dispatched to waters off Creek Road in Wading River Friday night where a man was reported missing, Riverhead police said.

The missing man, 39, went into the water from a private beach front property about 8:50 p.m., police said, and could not be located.

Units from Suffolk and Riverhead Town police departments, as well as Coast Guard and fire department units were involved in the search, police said.
