Man robs Riverhead bank, flees on foot

A Capitol One bank branch on Old Country Road in Riverhead was robbed Friday afternoon, police officials said.

Shortly before noon, the suspect handed the teller a note demanding cash, according to the Riverhead Police Department. After grabbing an unidentified amount of money, the suspect fled on foot, police said.

The suspect is described as wearing a light-colored fedora, a white-collared shirt, white shorts and white sneakers.
