Man's body found in woods in Shirley

Homicide detectives are trying to determine the circumstances surrounding the death of a 33-year-old man whose body was found in a wooded area of Shirley.

Suffolk County police have not released the identity of the man, pending notification.

Police said they believe the man is from Shirley.

They said his body was discovered Wednesday by a group of people walking through a wooded area along William Floyd Parkway, about 100 yards north of Roberts Road, at 5:25 p.m.
