Man seriously injured in LIE crash in Medford
A 47-year-old man was seriously injured Wednesday when he lost control his Jeep Cherokee on the Long Island Expressway in Medford, crashed and rolled several times before coming to rest on the roadway's cement median, officials said.
Michael Sharkey, Suffolk Sheriff chief of staff, said the Jeep was traveling westbound between exits 63 and 64 about 3:30 p.m. when the crash occurred.
The driver, whose name was not released, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center for treatment.
