Man shot at Northport bar

A man was shot last night at a Northport bar and police were searching for the shooter who fled the scene, authorities said.

Suffolk and Northport Police responded to the call of a shooting at the bar, Napper Tandy's Irish Pub at 229 Laurel Ave. at 10:36 p.m., police said.

It was unknown if the victim was shot inside or outside the bar. The man was taken to Huntington Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Suffolk police said.

Second squad detectives are investigating and were still searching for the shooter late last night, police said.

A woman who answered the phone at Napper Tandy's would not comment on the shooting.
