Suffolk County Police are investigating a drive by shooting that injured an unidentified man on Main Avenue in Wyandanch about 12:45 a.m. The man was shot in the leg and taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with what are reported to be non-life threatening injuries. (Dec. 7, 2011) Credit: Paul Mazza

A man suffered a bullet wound to his leg in a drive-by shooting early Wednesday in Wyandanch, Suffolk County police said.

The incident on Main Street was reported at 12:43 a.m., a police spokesman said.

The victim was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip. The wound was not life-threatening, police said.
