A Wyandanch man was shot in the leg as he stood on the street with friends on Saturday night, Suffolk police said.

Joshua Pittman, 18, was standing with a group of friends on North 16th Street when they heard gunshots about 9:50 p.m. As Pittman began to flee, he found that he had been shot in the leg.

Pittman was driven to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in a private vehicle for treatment of his wound.
