Suffolk County police ask the public's help locating a man in the theft and unauthorized use of a credit card, and they provided a surveillance camera photo Thursday showing the suspect at a Bayport convenience store.
The police said the card was stolen from the victim's vehicle, and the suspect used it at a 7-Eleven at 863-865 Montauk Hwy., Bayport, at 1:40 a.m. March 7. He used it to buy two sandwiches and 10 packs of Newport cigarettes, according to police.
An hour later the man used the credit card at a Valero gas station on Middle County Road in Selden, police said.
The man in the photo was described as 30 to 35 years old, thin, about 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-10, wearing a Giants knit ski cap and a black waist-length jacket with the words "Sean John" in large letters across the chest.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to make a confidential call to 800-220-TIPS.
