A Brentwood man who was visiting a friend's home in Kings Park was shot late Wednesday night by robbers there, Suffolk police said.

Police said they received a call about 11:35 p.m. reporting a first-degree robbery. The 29-year-old victim was visiting a friend on Old Dock Road when, police said, several suspects entered and robbed the home, stole cash and shot the visitor in the leg, police said. The robbers, who police said are believed to be all male, then fled in a vehicle.

The shooting injury was described as nonlife-threatening, and police said the victim was taken to a hospital.

Police were unsure early Thursday morning whether the home had been targeted. No further information was immediately available.
