Man with paper and bag robs Dix Hills bank
A man carrying a newspaper and a paper bag robbed a Dix Hills bank on Thursday afternoon, Suffolk County police said.
The robbery happened at about 12:50 p.m. at the Bank of America branch as the man handed a teller a note demanding cash and threatening the use of a weapon, police said.
The teller gave the cash to the man and the man fled, Det. Lt. Gerard Pelkofsky said.
The bank, at 709 Old Country Rd., is in a strip mall in a Pathmark shopping center.
The robber, 5-foot-9, was in his late 20s or early 30s. His glasses were dark and he wore a black hoodie.
