Man with suspended license crashes in Bay Shore, then flees, police say
A Bay Shore man with a suspended license ran away after causing a three-car crash Saturday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
Police said they caught and arrested Bryan Reyes, 28, a few minutes after he fled the crash on the Sunrise Highway Service Road in Bay Shore.
Reyes was trying to drive his 2014 Volvo between two cars stopped at a traffic light when he struck both vehicles at 1:08 p.m., police said.
Reyes then abandoned his disabled car and fled on foot, according to police.
Officers apprehended him 10 to 15 minutes later after a search that involved helicopters and K-9 units.
He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
No one was hurt in the crash, police said.
