<a href="/topics/Suffolk_County%2C_NY">Suffolk</a> police responding to a ShotSpotter alert in Wyandanch Saturday night found a man with a gunshot wound in a parking lot of the VFW Hall at 28 William St. 
 Officers arriving at the lot at 11:55 p.m. after the ShotSpotter alert, found William Ballard, 34, of Wyandanch, had been shot, police said. 
 Ballard was taken to <a href="/topics/Good_Samaritan_Hospital">Good Samaritan Hospital</a> Medical Center in <a href="/topics/West_Islip%2C_NY">West Islip</a>, where police said he is listed in stable condition. 
 Police ask anyone with any information on the shooting to contact the First Squad at 631-854-8152 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. Calls will be kept confidential.
