A 9-year-old boy was injured Friday morning after setting off a firework inside his Manorville home, police said.

Police responded to a home on Mini Court at about 10:45 a.m. to aid the boy, Suffolk County police said.

He was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was treated for an injury that was not life-threatening, police said.

There was no criminality involved, a Suffolk police spokesman said.
