Suffolk County police detectives are investigating the death of a jogger who was struck by a car Tuesday morning in Manorville.

Ruby Schwartz, 43, of Manorville, was jogging north on Chapman Boulevard, just north of Railroad Avenue, at 7:35 a.m. when a southbound 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier "swerved to the right" and struck her, police said in a news release.

Schwartz was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Brendon Snizek, 17, of Manorville, was not injured. His car was impounded for a safety check.

Police urge witnesses of the crash to call the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
