North Babylon elementary school closed after boiler room fire, officials say
North Babylon firefighters responded to an automatic alarm at the Marion G. Vedder Elementary School early Wednesday morning.
Marion G. Vedder Elementary School in North Babylon will switch to remote learning on Wednesday after a small boiler room fire, the school web site said.
"The building is closed until further notice," the school said.
There were no injuries and damage was minimal, the school said.
