A pedestrian was hospitalized early Thursday after he was struck by a vehicle in Mastic Beach, Suffolk County police said.

The 24-year-old man was walking on Neighborhood Road near Alder Drive when he was hit by a 2008 Ford F-350 at 12:33 a.m., police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

The 30-year-old driver called 911 and remained at the scene, police said.
