Mattituck-Cutchogue school district
VOTING
3 to 9 p.m. at Mattituck-Cutchogue Junior / Senior High School.
THE BUDGET
The district proposes a $40,284,062 budget for 2015-16, a 0.4 percent increase from the current $40,124,885. The local tax levy would rise 1.74 percent, from $35,348,994 to $35,962,562. The increase is within the state's tax-cap limit of 2.41 percent, so a simple majority vote will be required to approve the budget. School taxes on the average single-family home would increase 1.6 percent, from $4,394 to $4,465. The budget includes estimated increases in teacher salaries subject to negotiations. It maintains current levels of school staffing and programs.
