Maximilian Velazquez of Bay Shore killed in Sayville motorcycle crash, Suffolk police say

A Bay Shore motorcyclist was killed Sunday after he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a guardrail in Sayville, Suffolk police said.
Maximilian Velazquez, 48, of Bay Shore, hit the guardrail between Johnson and Lincoln avenues at about 10:15, police said, adding that he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Velazquez was riding a 2010 Victory motorcycle east on Sunrise Highway at the time of the crash, said Suffolk Det. Sgt. Bryan McMenemy.
Detectives are investigating, McMenemy said.
"We don't know if it was a mechanical issue or a health issue that caused this accident," he said.
