Medford car fire triggers investigation
Suffolk police and fire officials responded Sunday afternoon to a vehicle that caught fire in a parking lot behind stores on Route 112 in Medford near Jamaica Avenue, said a spokeswoman for the Suffolk County Police Department.
The call came in at 3:28 p.m., she said, adding, "It is still an active investigation."
The fire was out and a crime scene had been set up. The parking lot was cordoned off with yellow police tape, as was the Chase Bank next door. Police on the scene were waiting for members of the Suffolk Homicide Squad to arrive.
