An 87-year-old Mastic man who had been missing for five days was found in Amagansett Monday afternoon, authorities said.

Medio Figliolia, who suffers from dementia, was found about 2 p.m. near his car by the Terry King Ball Field in Amagansett, East Hampton Town police said.

He was taken to Southampton Hospital for observation, police said.

Detectives from the Suffolk's Seventh Precinct were at the ballpark Monday afternoon.

Suffolk police had issued a Silver Alert during the weekend for Figliolia after he was last seen standing in his driveway on Southaven Avenue on Wednesday at 7 a.m. The alert said Figliolia might be driving a 1994 Chevrolet sport van.

Silver alerts are issued when elderly individuals and adults with special needs are missing.
