Melville crash leaves driver critical

An early morning one-car crash in Melville left a man critically injured and fighting for his life Friday, police said.
The crash was on Old Country Road east of New York Avenue at about 1:30 a.m., Suffolk County police said.
Police said he was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow in critical condition. Police have not identified him.
The road was closed until just after 6 a.m., police said.
