Melville firefighters rescue 2 drivers after crash, officials say

Firefighters had to use heavy rescue tools to free a driver trapped in a pickup truck late Wednesday after it collided with another vehicle on Duryea Road in Melville, officials said.
The drivers of both vehicles were taken to hospitals for treatment, the Melville Fire Department said, but the extent of their injuries was not known.
The crash occurred about 10:30 p.m. near the U.S. Postal Service Processing Center just off Route 110, Suffolk County police said.
No information about the other vehicle was immediately available.
