The eastbound service road of the Long Island Expressway in Melville has reopened, after a single-car crash closed the road Saturday morning, Suffolk Police said.

Police said a 20-year-old Fresh Meadows woman told investigators that she swerved to avoid debris when driving a Nissan sport utility vehicle east on the Long Island Expressway about 8 a.m. The SUV overturned.

She and her 17-year-old passenger were taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow for injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Neither victim's name was released.

Police said they do not appear that there will be any citations. The road was reopened about an hour after the crash.
