Northport honors fallen service members, including one local Marine

On May 24, the Northport community gathered at the Pulaski Road Elementary School to plant small American flags in the field to honor the fallen from Iraq and Afghanistan. The family of U.S. Marine Cpl. Christopher G. Scherer, who was originally from East Northport and died in July 2007, was also there to honor their loved one. Credit: Howard Simmons
