Nine people — including a 3-year-old child — were taken to hospitals late Saturday after a two-vehicle crash in Miller Place, Suffolk County police said.

Detectives are investigating the crash, which left the toddler with serious injuries and eight others with nonlife-threatening injuries.

The collision occurred around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Route 25A and Miller Place Road in the North Shore hamlet, which sits between Port Jefferson and Rocky Point.

Multiple children were riding in one of the vehicles.
