Miller Place man dies in Port Jeff Sta. crash

A 49-year-old Miller Place man was killed in a one-car accident Wednesday in Port Jefferson Station, police said.

Gerard Daguanno was killed when his 1998 Oldsmobile left the road on westbound Route 347 near Woodhull Avenue and struck a utility pole at 8:12 p.m., Suffolk County police said.

Police said Daguanno, who was alone in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into the cause of the accident is continuing.

Police said the vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
