Miller Place teen arrested in drug charges
A Miller Place teen was arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop investigation in Thompson, N.Y., state police said Tuesday.
Nicholas Lafond, 19, was arrested on charges including felony drug possession, driving while impaired by drugs and several lesser drug charges.
Lafond was arraigned in the Town of Thompson court Tuesday, and ordered held in Sullivan County Jail on $15,000 bail, police said.
He was driving a Honda Civic west on State Route 17 near exit 110 in Thompson in excess of 90 miles per hour Wednesday, police said, and was stopped by troopers.
An investigation indicated that Lafond was in possession of more than an ounce of cocaine, and quantities of Xanax, Suboxone, and marijuana, police said.
