The National Weather Service says coastal Long Island may see minor flooding Wednesday.

High astronomical tides coupled with wind shifts may push high tide about a foot and a half to 2 feet above normal.

Low-lying areas will be especially prone to flooding. The flood threat is from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., the National Weather Service said.

Meanwhile, forecasters are calling for cloudy skies Wednesday with emerging sun as the day goes on. A high temperature of about 50 degrees is expected - but with wind gusts as high as 28 mph.

Skies clear late in the day, with a low in the upper 30s Wednesday night and sunny skies with a high in the low 50s expected for Veterans Day.

A moderate wind of 13-15 mph is expected.

Expect sunny skies through the weekend, as well, forecasters said, with mild temperatures in the mid- to upper 50s.
