Missing Central Islip man with memory loss located, police say

A missing Central Islip man who suffers from memory loss has been located, police said.

Suffolk police had issued a Silver Alert for Christino Vega, 83, of Cypress Street, who was last seen leaving his home at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Vega has been located “unharmed,” police said Thursday afternoon.

Silver Alert is a program “that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have gone missing,” police said.
