An 17-year-old Copiague boy was arrested at his home Friday morning in connection with a missing Ronkonkoma preteen, Suffolk County police said in a news release.

The girl, 12, was located unharmed at the suspect's Chestnut Place house Friday morning.

The girl was reported missing from her Pond Road residence on Oct. 19.

Detectives charged the 17-year-old with endangering the welfare of a child, according to the release.

Police said because the suspect is eligible for youthful offender status his name is not being released.

He is to be arraigned at a later date.
