A vehicle towing a mobile home hit a guardrail Monday morning, sending the mobile home onto its side and closing northbound North Ocean Avenue in North Patchogue, a Suffolk County police spokeswoman said.

About 7:25 a.m., police received a call that a vehicle transporting a mobile home hit the rail on North Ocean Avenue near the intersection of the eastbound service road to Sunrise Highway, the spokeswoman said.

"It looks like the vehicle transporting the mobile home went into the guardrail and the mobile home overturned," the spokeswoman said.

Police closed northbound North Ocean Avenue at about 8:20 a.m. as crews worked to rectify the situation, she said.

The road reopened to traffic at about 10 a.m., police said.

The initial call did not specify whether there were injuries related to the accident, the spokeswoman said.
