A woman was arrested early Sunday under Leandra's Law after she was found to be driving while intoxicated with her son, 5, in the car in Flanders, Southampton Town police said.

Christiene Dacosta, 34, of Flanders. was driving south on Flanders Road at about 3:44 a.m. when she was pulled over by police for failing to stay in her lane.

Police said Dacosta was driving under the influence of alcohol with her 5-year-old son in the car.

Dacosta was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child, which is a felony under Leandra's Law, as well as endangering the welfare of a child and several other vehicle and traffic law violations.

She was held in custody pending arraignment in Southampton Town Justice Court. The boy was given to family members, and Child Protective Services was called, police said.
