LIRR: Buses replace midday trains on Montauk Branch on Thursday

Buses will replace midday trains Thursday on the Long Island Rail Road's Montauk Branch because of track inspections, the commuter rail service said.

From 9:16 a.m. to noon buses will be used between Babylon and Patchogue, according to the LIRR.

Eastbound customers will board buses at Babylon for stations Bay Shore through Patchogue and should expect up to 23 minutes additional travel time.

Westbound customers at stations Patchogue through Bay Shore will board buses, up to 12 minutes later than their normal train times, to Babylon. Additional travel time needed could be up to 33 minutes, the LIRR said.

Train service to points west resumes at Babylon.
