Motorcycle crash closes N. Bellport road

The operator of a motorcycle was killed Monday afternoon in a collision with a pickup on East Woodside Avenue near Sawgrass Drive in North Bellport, Suffolk County police said.
The accident was reported at 3:26 p.m., a police spokeswoman said, and East Woodside Avenue was closed in both directions as the accident was investigated.
The driver of the pickup was hospitalized. His condition was not known.
