Motorcyclist Kevin Zambrano, 25, of Shirley, dies in crash with car in Centereach, police say

A Shirley motorcyclist was killed Friday morning after he ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle, police said.
In a news release, Suffolk police identified the motorcyclist as Kevin Zambrano, 25.
At midnight, Zambrano was driving his Honda VT1 east on Middle Country Road in Centereach when he drove through a red light at Eastwood Boulevard, striking a northbound 2021 Nissan Sentra.
Zambrano was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Sentra was not hurt.
Police impounded both vehicles for safety checks.
