A motorcycle crash in Babylon Town on Saturday afternoon left one man dead, according to State Police.

Police say that around 2:30 p.m. Michael Simeone, 58, of Massapequa was westbound near Exit 37 on the Southern State Parkway when his 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle struck a light pole on the right shoulder.

Simeone's motorcycle continued west and crossed all three lanes of traffic before it hit the center median guardrail, police said. Simeone was ejected from the motorcycle.

He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip and died from his injuries.

It appears that no other vehicles were involved, police said. Police ask witnesses or anyone with information about the crash to call 631-756-3300.
