Motorcyclist, his passenger seriously hurt in Selden crash, police say

A male motorcyclist and his female passenger were seriously injured when police said their bike collided with a van that turned in front of them on Middle Country Road Wednesday night in Selden.
The driver of the van, whose identity was not released, was not injured in the crash.
He was not charged.
Suffolk County police said the accident occurred at Blue Point Road at 9:58 p.m.
The motorcycle, a 2005 Kawasaki, was headed westbound on Middle Country, police said, when the eastbound Ford Econoline 350 van attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Blue Point Road in front of them.
Police said the motorcyclist, identified only as a 29-year-old man, suffered internal injuries. His 29-year-old female passenger, whose identity also was not released, suffered a compound leg fracture, police said.
Both were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment, police said.
Police said the investigation into the accident is continuing, but that there was no indication of criminality.
