Motorcyclist hurt when bike, car collide, police say

A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries Sunday night when he crashed with a car along Portion Road in Holbrook, Suffolk County police said.
Law enforcement officials had few details about the accident, saying only that the vehicles collided at 7:43 p.m.
The cause of the accident was not known -- and the names of the parties involved were not made public.
A spokeswoman for the department said the motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital.
