A motorcyclist was injured Sunday in a collision with a motorist who appeared to lose control on a rain-slicked road in West Hills, Suffolk County police said.

Police said a person driving a Nissan at West Jericho Turnpike and Sweet Hollow Road at about 10:45 a.m. appeared to have lost control due to wet road conditions.

The injured motorcyclist was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, police said.

The collision is being investigated.
