A motorcyclist was injured Saturday after his bike and a car collided in Huntington Station and the bike burst into flames, according to a fire department official.

The Huntington Manor Fire Department responded to the crash at East Jericho Turnpike about 11 a.m. and extinguished the blaze, a fire department spokesman said.

The motorcyclist was taken to Huntington Hospital.

The crash temporarily closed traffic on Jericho Turnpike between Beverly Road and Totten Avenue.

Suffolk police said the road has since reopened.
